Help files will not display

Yesterday I deleted the Office Test Run from my MacBook and loaded the
Student and Teacher Version of Office 2004 for Mac. I've run into a
couple of problems. First is that when I attempt to use Help files I
can search for the files and it will display the search results in the
left column. But when I attempt to open one of those files I get a
message that says: "Could not display the help file." This occurs in
any of the applications (Word, Entourage, Excel, PP). I reinserted the
Office DVD to see if there was a separate option for loading the Help
files and couldn't find an unique option for that. When I loaded
Office I loaded the "recommended" configuration -- so nothing
different than usual there. The second issue is that I can't access
fonts, etc. in Entourage. No problem in Word but can't do it in
Entourage. Anyone have any suggestions?

My guess is that you deleted the Test Drive in a non-standard way. To remove
the Test Drive properly, you absolutely need to use the Remove Office
application in Applications/Microsoft Office 2004/Additional Tools/Remove
Office; just dragging the Test Drive folder to the trash will NOT do the
job. My suggestion would be to run Remove Office, uninstall everything
related to the Office applications (apart from your documents and the
Microsoft User Data folder) and then reinstall the Student and Teacher
version again. After you've done that, don't forget to apply all the latest
updates (combo updater 11.3.5 available from Mactopia or via Microsoft
AutoUpdate).
