Help! Formula for AVG when group size varies

I've set up an average formula for 7 raters

AVERAGE(B2:B8)

However just discovered some of the raters will be absent
for some candidates. What's the formula that will
average only those ratings reported? In other words a
formula that won't count an empty cell.
