Anyone have a solution for the help screen always freezing?
If I hit "F1" and word doesn't recognize what I'm looking for, it brings up
the "Ways to get Assistance" screen as a single pane in the help window, and
won't include the pane with the Contents / Answer Wizard / Index tabs. When
I hit the "Show/Hide" button to bring up the pane, help always freezes and
requires a ctrl-alt-del taskmanager to shut it down (can't right click to
get the pop-up to shut it down).
This ALWAYS happens the first time I (try to) use help each day (or session,
if I restart my computer during the day).
It frequently happens (on the first help usage of the session) as well if I
hit "F1" and word DOES recognize what I'm looking for but I want to switch
to a different tab (it opens contents and I want the index, etc), but I can
usually right-click on the help window in the taskbar and bring up the
pop-up menu to remove shutdown help.
I'm running WinXP Pro 2002 SP1 & Word 2000 SP3
tia.
