HELP - have lost FILE menu in EXCEL in Microsoft Office X

Julie Magilen

I don't know what I have done, but the end result is that I
no longer have a file menu in the top tool bar. I am using
OS 10.2.8 and the tool bar at the top looks as follows:
litte blue apple, Excel, Edit, View, Insert, Format, Data,
Window, Help.

there should be a 'File' between Excel and Edit. Any help
would be appreciated.

Choose View/Toolbars/Customize. On the Toolbars tab, select
Worksheet Menu Bar by clicking on it once so that the name is
highlighted.

Click Reset, then OK.

Your Tools menu should come back as well.

Hi Julie,

At the right end of the standard toolbar there's a small triangle. Click
that and choose customize.

In the Customize dialog that opens, highlight the Menu Bar and then click
the Reset button. Then click OK to close the dialog box.

If you did not intentionally or accidentally change the menu bar by using
the Customize dialog, be sure to scan your computer for viruses.
