I have MS Office Professional Edition 2003, which i purchased last year. I
went to office update to see if there are any updates. there were 4. the
first being SP1 and two other small files and finally SP3. when I attempt to
down load and install SP3 it says that I need the originall CDs. so I out the
original cd but says it cannot locate the files. I point to that drive but
still wont except. so I go to the resource page to look for the full file
"Office XP Service Pack 3 (English version)" but this was created in 2004?
and when I go to install after downloading it said that it can find the right
version 2002. What is going on is this the right SP3 or what...

Office 2003 Pro has only SP1 and most recently SP2 only. If you are trying to download and install SP3 then it is available for Office XP(2002) only.

What version of Office do you have installed? Is it Office2003 or Office XP(2002) for Windows or is it a Mac version.

Please post back with proper version of Office and for which version are you trying to download the Service Pack for

Please excuse me for cutting in but is this the fix for getting Office 2003
to reinstall after an XP Pro SP3 upgrade? I can't find any way to either
install or uninstall Office now...even though the program is there and
responds when I click on a document created in Office prior to the update.
I'm getting desperate and ready to go back to OpenOffice.org at this point.
