Help! I have accidently archived my contacts and now can't retrieve them.

I tried to open archives.pst but it gives me the
message "archive.pst is not a valid Win32 application". I
am still using Outlook 97. I have tried to find help for
this but can only find info about "Outlook.exe is not a
valid Win32 application" and "(other) .exe's is not a
valid Win32 application" information. The information says
that these .exe's are damaged. How do I replace or repair
a damaged .pst file? How do I get my files back to where
they belong?
I am desperate! I had a huge contacts list with lots of
info.

Once you are in Outlook, have you tried going to file File
OPEN > PERSONAL FOLDER FILE and browsing to the location
of your archive.pst file. It should then appear in your
folder's list.
