Help! I threw away my CD case with the CD key number

T

Terri Austin

I am the legitimate owner of a copy of Office 2000 Pro.
I recently purchased a new laptop and want to install the
Office 2000, but I accidentally threw away the old CD key
to keep my Office installation disks in a CD case. How
can I locate the CD key so I can reinstall the programs?

Yes, you can do this, but my way is shorter and a lot less of a hassle.

| Alternatively, you can contact Microsoft Support Services
| in your region. Usually you will need your COA, Proof of
| purchase and maybe the EULA.
|
| To find Microsoft Support Services in your area, go to
| the following website and choose your region, then look
| for support and contact us.
|
| http://www.microsoft.com/worldwide/
|
| From there they should be able to recreate a CD-Key for
| your installation.
|
| Hope that helps.

Help>about gives you the Product ID, not the 25-digit Product Key which you
need to install the SW. If the SW is still installed on the old
machine...listen to Milly<G>.
