Does anyone have any advice on where to look to hire a
project manager. I need someone with 4-5 years
experience using Microsoft Project but am having a
difficult time finding candidates in the NY area. Any
advice on where to search or advertise would be helpful.

There is a big difference between hiring a PM, and hiring
a person who has experience with MS Project. There are
project schedulers who can use MS Project to schedule
tasks, and there are project managers who can manage
projects. Project management involves more than just
creating the project schedule in MSProject. Some PM's
have attained their professional certifications from the
PM Institute (PMP), and their are certified technicians
in the use of MS Project. You might look on the
Monster.com, or possibly the www.pmi.org website, or
check out a local PMI chapter meeting. There are
probably several chapters in NYC area. The www.pmi.org
site will list the chapters. Or try a headhunter company.

Run that by me again. You are in NY (That's the New York at the upper right
side of the USA, right, the one with 8M people?) and you can't find anyone
to do this?
Fly me in. I am in Sydney Australia.

Seriously, though, contact Stephen Devaux at www.totalprojectcontrol.com

He is in your neighbourhood and may know someone who fits the bill.
