Help install upgrade Small Business 2007 when 1935 error occurs

Joe

I purchased Office Small Business 2007 Upgrade. Don't have Small Business on
my computer, but salesman and the side of the box says that if you have
Microsoft Works 6.0 or later it will install. I have Works 8.5. Also I have
an old copy of Office XP for Students & Teachers on my computer. When I try
to install the Upgrade I get error 1935 (setup failed) or error 2908.

What can I do? I can't return the expensive software since I've opened it,
and I can't reach Microsoft or find the answer for this problem in FAQs.

Thank you very much for the info. on error 1935.

Re. the Small Business 2007 upgradel. I knew that this software was not
compatible with my old Office XP for Students and Teachers, but the side of
the box of Small Business 2007, and the sales person said that if I had Works
6.0 or later then Small Business 2007 would work. I have Works 8.5 which
contains the various Works programs, spreadsheet, calendar, word processor,
database, etc. This is why I purchased Small Business 2007. If Works 8.5 is
not a qualifying program (regardless of what the box and software say), then
how can I return it since it is not useable to me.

Please help me with this as it is expensive software. Thank you.

Office XP for Students and Teachers is NOT a qualifying product for Office
2007 upgrade.

As for the error, does this help?

Thank you for responding. I understand what you are saying, but on the side
of the software it says. "The software will install only if your are a
licensed user of one of the following products:
-- Microsoft Works 6.0 or later. Download required for Works 9 - please
visit www.michrosoft c.com/offic/worsupgrade
-- Mircrosoft Works Suite 2000-2006 or later
-- Any 2000-2007 Microsoft Office program or suite
-- Any Microsoft Office XP suite, except Student and Teacher edition

I have Works Version 8.5 on my computer and according to the salesman and
from what I read above, the upgrade should work.

Since it doesn't work and I cannot install it, do you have any idea of what
I can do. Of course, I've opened the box so I can't return it to the store.
Can't affort to lose $182 either.
