Help installing Office XP

C

Courtney

I am currently running XP Home Edition and would like to
install Office XP Standard. I am a little nervous - I
will not lose my XP Home Edition programs or my saved
files, will I?

Not at all, Courtney. Be sure to shut down everything else before you begin.
Right click the Taskbar and select "Task Manager". Highlight anything
running under "Applications" and click on 'End Task'.

I always recommend looking in "Processes" also and if FindFast is running,
highlight that also and click on 'End Process.'

Good luck,

Ed

It's also a good idea to turn off your antivirus program while installing. BTW,
Courtney you might consider a little reading so you understand the differences
between MS Windows XP, an Operating System and MS Office, an Application Suite.
Your local bookstore will have reference books written to help novices. Knowing
a little more about the interrelation between your applications and your
operating system may help make your computing experience less stressful in the
future.

Cheers,

And why on earth would you?! One's an operating system - the other's an
office suite. Did you lose any of your operating system files when you
installed Office on any other version of Windows you might have owned?
