Help installing SP2

N

newbie2

I am unable to install service pack 2 for Word XP (2002).
My laptop was delivered with Office XP Professional with
FrontPage installed (by my employer) and they did not
(won't) provide me with the media. So I purchased my own
copy of Office XP. But I bought the standard version not
Professional with Front Page version. Now I get an error
message when trying to install the SP 2 update. It cannot
install the SP because the update is looking for the a
copy of the Profession version software (on cd , disk or
online) which I don't have.

Any suggestions?

Sorry. But, believe it or not, I did search for an answer
and was unable to find it. And, I still haven't found a
solution.

Any chance someone could point to the posting I'm looking
for?

Thanks again.

You will have to use Add/Remove programs and remove Office Pro with Front
Page completely. Then Install Office Professional from the new CD. Activate
the product and then you will be able to run all the updates.
