Help - is it a bug ?

Hi all - especially Dale + Gary !!

Ive got a bit of a problem and hope you can help
We are using Project + PWA 2003 with lock down actuals and have now got 2
types of plans - one set for high level timesheet tasks and one set of low
level plans.
The low level plans have only generic resources assigned to detailed
tasks.....
The problem we are geeting is the out of sync message - which if we ignore
is ok but if we do sync it kills all the tasks progress back to 0%. - this
does not make sense to me as publishing cannot occur as generics do not
generate timesheets - its doing my head in now - is it a known bug ?

we are running project 2003 with SP1

Thanks in advance

Mat

In the future, please post your Project Server questions in the
microsoft.public.project.server newsgroup, as this newsgroup is going to
close down. To answer your question, the use of Managed Time Periods
prevents your PM's from entering progress manually in the actual Microsoft
Project plan. This is the case, even if you are using Generic resources
only in the project plan. Hope this helps.
