Help, lost 2 month's work

ON 2007, vista , I have been putting ideas into "unfiled notes" for almost a
year. Today, I drag and dropped "onenote notebooks" with the last two months
material from Document folder onto a flash drive, and that two months' of
unfiled notes has disappeared. As far as I can figure, former saved ON
material on the flash overwrote what was on my computer instead of the other
way around.
I certainly don't understand that. Anyway, is there some cache somewhere
where my current work still resides?
Another thing, at about the same time I drag and dropped, I closed a
notebook called Personal Notebook left over from the origional installation
of onenote. I can't conceive of how that would affect anything. But then, I
can't conceive of any of this.

I'm no expert and I cant follow exactly what you're done but both vista and
onenote create backup files. Which version of vista are you using? Ultimate
allows you to access the backups. Also google onenote backup files or try
help in onenote under backup. Onenote does regular backups
