Help lost my text in Word

After spending hours typing up something with researched information I
clicked something and all columns were resized and indented in each column.
I hit the undo button and it would not bring me back to my original format.
I kept trying different things to undo this action and finally somehow I
started the redo button over and over and now the redo button is all greyed
out and will not replace my text..Help!!!

Did you save a copy so that you may reload the text? If you managed to
delete the contents of the file and there is no original, there is not
much anyone else can do.
