HELP! Macros in files with No Macros.....?

Hi

all my excel files when i open them now ask if i should "enable
macros" or "disable macros"
90% of all my excel files do not have macros.

why would something like this happen?

is there a way to turn it off/correct this issue?


thanks so much for any help in this heavy heavy annoyance.

You can change the security level by using Tools, Options, selecting the
Security tab. Go to the bottom right area of the tab and click the "Macro
Security" button. Select "Low" and you shouldn't be bothered with the
warnings any more. Note that this is not recommended. Hope this helps.

In order to offer any appropriate advice we need to know what version of
Excel your using as well as what version of which operating system. If a
Mac, post back here. If a PC you'll be more likely to get more prompt
response at: microsoft.public.excel.misc, although many in this newsgroup
are experienced on both PC & Mac.

Keep in mind, however, that the warning is a generic dialog & doesn't
necessarily involve macros... it can also be triggered by other
customizations (menus & toolbars) or by any use of VBA in the file. I
believe links can also cause the prompt, but more detail is needed.
