Am having all sorts of trouble with Outlook 2000. I get an error message
every time I try to close it, and another program I have that uses Outlook to
send mail won't work, getting the same error message ("Microsoft outlook has
encountered a problem and needs to close..."). Also, I imported someone
else's .pst file, which I think was corrupted.
The problem is, I can't seem to delete my old personal information. I've
looked all over the newsgroups, but they mostly seem to contain information
for Outlook 2003 users, and I can't find any of the features that people keep
suggesting people use. So I'd just like to get rid of Outlook 2000 and start
over from scratch.
Outlook came with Microsoft Office 2000 Premium, and there doesn't seem to
be a way to selectively uninstall or reinstall specific applications. I've
tried reinstalling Office to make Outlook unavailable, which works, but when
I reinstall, all the old folders and mail accounts are still there and I get
the same error on close. I've tried reinstalling the entire Office 2000, but
that doesn't get rid of my user information either. I've tried uninstalling
first and then installing again. Same problem.
There must be some way to do a clean reinstall! Can anyone help me?
