First of all, your update level of OS X is way behind ‹ you specify 10.5.2
but 10.5.7 is where it should be. I suggest you first get the Combo Update
from Apple Downloads, apply it & Repair Disk Permissions afterward:

pdate.html>

Unfortunately, however, you've not given any indication of which version of
Mac Office you're using or what its update level is. Without that
information it's hard to suggest what approach to take. A more complete
description of exactly what you're experiencing would also be most
helpful... What steps you're taking, what specific method, whether it's
happening in one particular document or all documents. The more complete &
accurate detail you provide the better someone is able to help.

Hello Dylan;

I do appreciate the fact that you are making the attempt, but unfortunately
you still have not provided any of the information requested in my original
reply. Although your system specs possibly may have bearing somewhere
further down the road it doesn't help at the moment.

Just in case it may have not appeared here is a quote of that message as it
also appears further down in the thread below:

1. I have updated to mac os x 10.5.7
2. what do you mean by level update? Do you mean like office 2008 12.1.7? If
yes that's what mine is
3. it happens on every update
4. the steps I take are:
1. I start up word
2. I create a new doccument
3. I click create new slide
4. I then click the picture of a window with a photograph of a
man (next to the movie clip)
5. then it crashes (the whole thing not just clip art)

Hi Dylan;

Thanks for the reply - this is the type of detail needed to troubleshoot any
type of problem. Please see the in line response below:

1. I have updated to mac os x 10.5.7

Good - Did you run Disk Utility - Repair Disk Permissions afterward? If not,
do that first, then see the suggestion below.
2. what do you mean by level update? Do you mean like office 2008 12.1.7? If
yes that's what mine is

That's exactly what I meant :) Unfortunately the web interface only prompts
you for base version info but the specific update nomenclature is what we
need to know (for both the OS & Office). Now that we have that we can rule
out many possibilities rather than chasing ghosts.
3. it happens on every update

I'm not sure what you mean... This suggests that the problem occurs each
time you apply [an Office?] update but that the problem eventually goes away
of its own accord then recurs when the next update is applied. Can you
clarify this?
4. the steps I take are:
1. I start up word

We are dealing with PowerPoint, right? Although the same issue probably
arises in Word as well.
2. I create a new doccument
3. I click create new slide
4. I then click the picture of a window with a photograph of a
man (next to the movie clip)

OK, but what happens if you use the Toolbox> Object Palette - Clip Art to
insert the clip rather than launching the Clip Gallery? Or use the Clip Art
button on the Drawing Toolbar to display the Palette?
5. then it crashes (the whole thing not just clip art)

Now let's see if this will resolve the crashes: Quit all Office programs,
then go to the following folder:

User/Library/Application Support/Microsoft/Office/Clipart

Delete the file named: Clip Gallery User Database

Launch PowerPoint & see if the crashing continues.

If it does, reply with the results as well as whether it does happen also in
Word (using Insert> Picture> Clip Art).

I went to the clipart folder but there was nothing inside the folder
And when I went to the object palette the whole thing crashed altogether :S
