Help! Microsoft Word problem.

I have HP labtop with Windows XP. When I open a Word file,
there is always an error message window with "Server Busy"
title come out.
For example, when I open the file "ProjectPlan.doc", the
error window would display the message "This action connot
be completed because the 'Document1-microsoft word'
program is not responding. Choose 'Switch To' and correct
the problem".

Can this problem be solved by configing some thing?
