A well-working system using Project Server authentication will be
replaced by a "better" installation that uses Windows Authentication.
Steps I've gone through.
1. Backup Enterprise Global from install #2 (clean).
2. Backup Enterprise Global from install #1 (custom filters, views,
etc.)
3. Backup Enterprise Resources from install #1
4. Export all projects and templates from install #1
5. Restore Enterprise Global in install #2 from Enterprise Global
backup of install #1 (pick up all new views, filters, etc.). I assume
this is a complete OVERLAY not an add-on of these objects.
6. Import Enterprise Resources from install #1 using wizard
7. Import Projects and templates into install #2 from those exported
from install #1
In the new install when I open the first project (or any for that
matter) I start getting all these "Enterprise Global already contains"
messages pertaining to filters, views, etc. I know based on Dale
Howard's responds this has something to do with the Enterprise Global
being polluted with non-enterprise objects.
HOWEVER, I'm confused in that the install #1 is just fine, and when the
global backup from install #1 was applied to install #2 and the project
imported, I've got corruption.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. What do I need to do to
get a clean port over to the new environment?
Thanks,
