Help ! My outlook.pst file in Outlook 2000 disapeared !!!

Hi All

I'm in real trouble.

When starting my computer today (win 98) I was asked to start in safe
mode, which I did ... The computer did some operation in the registry
.... scan reg ... and then I managed to restart in normal mode.

Then the problems started !!!

When trying to open my outlook 2000 I got the information that the
file outlook.pst could not be found in the location it has allways
been (somewhere under windows \ local settings ...)

When searching the computer files I could not find any *.pst file and
also in the Microsoft support site I can't find any solution for this
..


Does anyone have an idea of what I can do to recover my missing
outlook.pst ???

I suspect it is gone. Starting in safe mode is not a good
sign so you may have a bigger problem. I'd run a virus
scan and do some spyware removal.

Does anyone have any idea why this happened ... it was a large pst (1G)... ????
