HELP !! Need Automatic email notifications sent

Im looking for a way to utilize any Office program to automatically generate
an email notification to a database of about 50 users. Currently we are
running Lotus Notes for email. If there's anyway to circumvent the use of
Outlook, that would be the best, if not we'll have to cross that bridge.
