Help! Need Image on left side

Lorena

Is there any way to have a header/footer-like document with the header image
on the left side instead of the top?
Or is there some other way to do this that I don¹t know about?
I need a simple image on the left of every page and text to the right of it.

Please please help!

Hi

This is pretty easy to do.

Switch to Page Layout view on the View menu.

Then from the View menu choose Header and Footer. The cursor will be in the
header (just leave it there).

From the Insert menu choose Picture > From File and navigate to a picture
you want to use, then click Insert. Click once on the picture so that the
little "handles" are showing. In the formatting palette go to the Wrapping
section and change the Style to Square and set Wrap To: Right Side.

Resize the picture using the handles (if necessary) and drag the picture to
the left position you want it to appear. Then close the Header and Footer
toolbar. That should do it!

Here is one way I know of that has worked for me.
1. Insert a Text Box in the Header (Insert > Text Box (Frame)). You can
stretch this frame to whatever length and width you want and it won¹t affect
the actual size of the Header in relation to your text or where it starts on
the page.
2. Use the Insert > Picture command to place your image in the frame.
3. Then you adjust your margins so that the text doesn¹t overlap the image in
the frame (unless you want it to).

You can use the advanced formatting commands to get precise control over the
image placement. The image will appear on every page of your document in the
same way a regular Header would. You might have to experiment a bit to get
exactly the results you want, but it should work.

Hi Bloomer,

Let me quote myself. When you are working in the header "drag the picture
to the left position you want it to appear."

In other words you are not required to have the picture at the top. You can
place it anywhere you want to in the document. Just drag it to the left side
and put it where you want it.
