HELP. NEED TO RECOVER DELETED EMAILS!

emi

Somehow (I don't think I was involved in this, but I
probably was by accident...) all my sent items were moved
to my deleted items folder....I was frantically trying to
move them back but my outlook wouldn't cooperate...and
then they were automatically deleted before I could
recover any of them. The outlook help site didn't offer
any helpful insights, but I seem to remember (and hope!)
that they are on my computer somewhere for some period of
time (this just happened within the last hour). Does
anyone happen to know if deleted items (actually deleted
from the deleted items folder) can be recovered somewhere
on your computer?

Thanks in advance! These emails are, of course,
irreplaceable and over a long period of time!

Thanks for your reply. It might be helpful, but my
computer literacy is very low so it doesn't make complete
sense to me. I also don't think that I have ever
consciosly "compacted" my files. Is there a chance that
that is done automatically? If there's the possibility
that it's been done automatically, how do I "locate the
*pst file"?

Thanks!!

It is done automatically for Outlook 2002 and 2003 (when the computer is
idle)

To locate your pst-file;
Make sure you include hidden and system files and folders when searching for
pst-file.

By default it is located in
C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook\
