Help needed converting publisher files to pdf

Debbie

When I save a publisher file to pdf format the colours of my fonts sometimes
change. I've found this with red and pink colours - they come out grey in
pdf format. Why is this? What can I do to prevent this change from
happening??

Thanks,
Debbie

I'm using the download from Microsoft to convert my Publisher and other
Office documents to pdf. So under File I choose Publish as PDF and
Publisher does the conversion.

Yes, I've used the Publish as PDF a number of times and didn't seem to have
any trouble with anything until I did a poster using a Publisher Template
that had a red font. It came out grey when published to PDF and then
yesterday I made another poster and the pinky/burgundy colour is coming out
grey. It's the same colour that's in a piece of clip art I'm using on the
poster. The colour is fine in the piece of clip art but the text turns grey.
I'm baffled.

Are you using standard fonts? Not all fonts are created equal. I've tried to
duplicate your problem and I cannot. I used standard fonts.
What template did you use? I'll see if I can get the same results.

Ok... in publisher choose Flyer, Event, BBQ and the template has a cherry red
font. When I take that template and publish it to PDF the cherry red fonts
come out grey. (BBQ Title, Date, Time Contact Person) This happens right
away - I just opened the template and published it to PDF without altering
anything.

Not sure about using "Standard Fonts" - I've pretty much just used the fonts
from the templates or added my own text using Fonts from the Publisher menu.
I presume I'm using standard ones. The font publishes to PDF ok - it's just
the colour that changes to grey.

Thanks,
Debbie

Hello Debbie,
This is not happening here. I used both Acrobat and the Microsoft Add-in.
I don't know what is going on. When you "save as", click the advanced button,
are all the settings correct? Can you get color if you select a higher
resolution?

Maybe the add-in did not download correctly. You might try downloading and
installing it again.

Is your graphic/video driver current? Do all your colors look correct on your
screen?

I had the same problem and someone on this site helped me fix it. I could
not find the actual thread to give the right person credit but here is the
fix that worked for me:

even though you are not printing the document, your printer needs to be set
to print in color. Don't ask me why, but i went into print setup, changed my
local printer setting to print in color, and shazam! go figure.

hope that works.

now if i can figure out why some letters of my fonts are not displying
correctly, i'll be a happy camper.
