Can anyone help me here ?
You are misinterpreting the following sentence in the suggested solution
for assignment 10. '…You were then given the task to produce a project plan
from the analysis phase onwards…'
This means the following:
· The original OVERALL project plan was 85 days (17 weeks).
· The 70 days is related ONLY to the period after project initiation.
· This period was shortened by 6 days.
· Please note: if you shorten part of the whole by x you shorten whole
by x as well.
· This means the following:
o The total project is shortened by 6 days from 85 days to 79 days (17
weeks to 15.8 weeks).
o The period after initiation is shortened by 6 days from 70 days to 64
days.
· The costs are adjusted, correspondingly.
Weeks before adjustment Weeks after adjustment
Initiation phase 15 days 15 days
After-initiation phase 70 days 64 days
Total project 85 days 79 days
Any financial director should be able to understand this!!!
Now to test if you really understand: explain to us how the costs are
worked out, taking into account the following two pieces of information
(explain the difference):
Initiation phase A
· PM 20,000 x 3 = 60,000
· Analyst (fulltime) 300 x 40 x 3 = 36,000
· Analyst (part time) 300 x 8 x 3 = 7,200
· Programmers 200 x 40 x 3 x 2 = 48,000
Total: EEK151,200
Initiation phase B
· The Salary Cost (Project Initiation Phase) = EEK356,394.00
