Help - Office SP3 'upgrade' has locked me out of Office!

J

John S

I downloaded Office SP3, but canceled the install when it asked for the disk
that will
take me days (maybe weeks) to find.

But now each time I try to start any Office program, the SP install resumes
- blocking access to the program I was trying to open. Canceling the SP
install ends the whole process.

I'll accept the 'security risks' that would have been fixed for now in order
to keep working. Please help me get back in business! I'm desperate!

this is a legit copy of Office 203 pro that came with my computer - 5 years
ago. I tore up my house looking for the disk over the weekend but no luck so
for. HELP!

TIA John

Why is it unreasonable to expect MS to help me undo this? It seems like a
'gotcha' designed to generate revenue.

It's their fault that *you* lost the disk?

Actually folks, this is also a problem for those of us that bought the
software suite online from one of the Micsosoft agents after the usual
software try out period on a new laptop, and thus do not have a software
master disk for office. We then get stuffed for the SP 3 pack install when it
asks for the office system disk as part of the SP 3 install process.
Fortunately, it did not lock out the legitimate Office XP applications.

So, any sensible suggestions out there please?
