HELP: Online Collaboration In FrontPage 2003

GameBeat

Hello All,

I am desperately trying to determine if FrontPage 2003 has the built in
ability to do the following. I need to have the ability to create a simple
web page that my business partner/s can log onto (preferable with a username
and password) and we have the ability to leave notes and comments for each
other for a project under development. Nothing complex in terms of project
management, but again he can make comments post an image and I can add to and
edit that text and save it for him or others I authorize to see this page.

I am hoping I can do this all within FrontPage, but I have no clue on how to
begin. I do know a bit about how to create and post a page on my server, but
if this enter and save text capability something that is possible, or does it
require special Add-ins and f so which ones and where can I find them.

Lastly, are there any online tutorials to accomplish this? If FrontPage
cannot do this what consumer software do you recommed for this type of need?

I anxiously await the comments of those in the know!

Thank you.

It could be done with FrontPage, although there is nothing built into
FrontPage to do it automatically.

You will either have to know how to program, or hire someone to it for you.

Thanks Bob, can you recommend a 3rd party consumer package that give me this
basic ability and does not have too complicated a learning curve?

Windows SharePoint Services which are included with any version of Windows
Server 2003 will enable you to do exactly what you need noting a significant
level of collaboration is provided OOTB. Some hosting providers such as
WebHost4Life.com include providing SharePoint in their hosting service.

You should learn more about Windows SharePoint Services.

No only I have FrontPage and planned to create a simple page with titles etc,
but I wanted to be able to have other with just a web connection to be able
to log onto this page (passworded) and they have the abilty to add/edit the
information.

I was going to host it on the same hosting company my company site is on.
they do have FrontPage extensions installed. So the page I want to share
would be located like this www.gamebeatstudios.com/shared_page.htm, or
something to that effect.

I would even rather buy an application that could do this if one existed for
the average consumer (with no programming experience), I don't need or want
anything super complicated. I mean I get around pretty goof in FrontPage,
but I have no coding knowlege and don't want to pay for a monthly service for
this since I already have a hosted website. www.gamebeatstudios.com

Any other ideas/suggestions?

Thanks

Hi. Do you mean like a private BLOG or Guestbook? OR why cant you just
start a private YAHOO! list? You can post files, communicate to one
another, post pix.... It is really quite versatile and easy to use for
anyone! And... there is no cost... but again... not having a big
learning curve is great!
