HELP! - Outlook XP autoarchieve file missing???????????

My boos desperately needs an old "sent message".

I went to his machine to open the archieve.pst file, but to my surprise,
this file doesn't exists even though the file is set up correctly in
Outlook.

Now it seams like all his old sent items are gone.

Anybody experienced this before??

Is it normal for Outlook to ask if one wishes to autoarchieve and then
throws the mails away???

Thanks!!!

Outlook does not delete old .pst files. So, it likely is there somewhere.
How are you looking for it? If you're searching for "archieve.pst", make
sure your spelling is correct (in the U.S., it usually would be
archive.pst). Better still, search for *.pst, and allow for the possibility
that it might reside on a different computer/server.

Hi Herb,

I've searched the whole computer for *.pst - no luck.

This is in the Outlooks archive settings:

C:\Documents and Settings\mrj\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook\Archive.pst

.... but the file is not there even though Outlook every second week asks
for auto archieve. The only file that is in that directory is a extend.dat.

Any other ideas?

Thanks,

Another possibility is that some of the files in that folder are hidden, for
some reason. Have you set Windows Explorer to display hidden and system
files?

Yes, I've set to computer to show all files and it is not there.

It must be a bug.
