Hello there. Outlook XP in an Exchange 2000 networked
environment. All of a sudden, a user on the network gets
this message when launching Outlook "Cannot start
Microsoft Outlook. Unable to display the selected folder
or item. You do not have permission to log on".
I go to her to Outlook profile > properties > advanced
tab> make sure that "Password authentication" from the
drop-down is selected. Rebooted - She is prompted for
username/password when she launches Outlook.
I go to her to Outlook profile > properties > advanced
tab> select "None" from the drop-down. Reboot.
Now she gets message "The message store could not be
opened. Click OK to verify your mail profile settings."
I tried clicking on OK, but it just puts me in a loop
where it continues to ask me to verify my mail profile
settings. I know from experience that you normallye
select "none" when you have more than one profile and
that's when you are prompted for username/password. This
situation seems to do just the opposite. Please help.
