Help pane

I downloaded a template from MS and modified it extensively. Now every time I
open a doc based on that template, the "Rate this template" pane opens up on
the right side of the screen --- very annoying to say the least.

How can I get rid of this? The template in question is to be distributed to
our entire user base of 500+.

Hi Grace,

Whether that screen comes up is based on the user setting for each computer. You didn't mention the version of Office or the app
you're in, but assuming Word 2003 (similar in the other 2003 apps) you can use
Help=>Customer Feedback Options=>Online Content
to turn off the 'Show template help' feature on your computer.

To remove the template help 'trigger' from a Word template in Word 2003, with the template open, use
File=>Properties=>/Custom\
and locate the _TemplateID property, select it, choose [Delete] then save your template.
