help! pics on website are coming up red "x"

I have been using FrontPage Express for the past few years to publish a
webpage with pics of kids, etc. I had Win 98. I bought this new computer
with Win XP. It did not have FrontPage Express so I downloaded it tonight
from some website that offered it free. I wanted to update my ,ids' website
so I changed some stuff and added some new pics. I always put the graphics,
photos, etc. in the same folder as the webpage so they all have the same
address. I uploaded the page to my webpage server and uploaded the photos,
graphics, etc. Now I am getting a red 'x' where the picture should be. Does
this have anything to do with XP or the program I am using to edit my photos?
Can anyone help me? Here is the URL

please help!

I did a search through the discussion group looking for answers but all the
posts I came up with dealt woth Front Page 2000 whichis not the same as Front
Page Express. Front Page Express does not have the inport option that FP 200
has.

As far as uploading the images, I did upload the photo as well as the
webpage to the server. I tried it numerous times. I did just try something
different and the photo seems to be coming up now. I edited the picture using
Microsoft PictureIt! Instead og Jasc Photo Shop and when I saved it using
Microsoft PictureIt! the file extension said something like ".jpeg
interchangeable" something something.....so then I went back into Front Page
Express and changed the photo to the one I edited with PictureIT! and
uploaded it to the server now it seems to be coming up? Maybe the file
extension that Jasc uses doesnt get recognized or something? Could the file
extension have anything to do with it?
Here is the URL...let me know if you can see the pic:

ok...have been playing around with this thing. I noticed when I try to upload
images that I have edited and saved using Jasc Paint Shop, when I try to
upload them, I get a message from the server that the image "does not appear
to be a true *.jpg image". When I use Microsoft PictureIt! to edit the image
and save it, I can upload it and it does come up on the webpage. Why is the
site I am uploading page to telling me the image is not a true .jpg? How do I
fix this? Any ideas?

It depends on the choice you have for saving the image as a jpeg (jpg) in Jasc Paint Shop. JPG
images for the web need to be saved with a subformat of RGB, not CYMK.

hi,

I nhave no idea what this means!! Can you tell me in simple terms how would
I save an image in Jasc Painst Shop as a jpeg so that it will be recognized
as a true jpeg image?

Thanks so much!!

I have no idea, as I don't use Paint Shop. You would have to see it's help or visit a user group for
Paint Shop.

hmmmmm........have never hadanyone tell me before that Homepagez.com attempts
to hijack their home page. It never does that to me, either, when I visit my
webpage. Wierd.....believe me...I would never use them if I knew they were
trying to hijack people's homepage every time they visited my webpage!! I
will have to find out if it does that to everyone who visits my site. Never
had anyone tell me that before and I have had my homepage on their server for
about 6 years now. Thanks for the info.

Still confused on the .jpg thing. I will have to get in touch with someone
at Jasc help desk to find out how to convert files to a true .jpg extension.
I did not change the xtension from something else, that I know. I just
downloaded my pics from my camera, edited them using Jasc Paint Shop, and
then tryied to upload them to my server. thanks for your help!
