Help Please: Office / IE / SBS2003

D

David Auld

Hi,

Following adding 2 computers to the SBS2003 domain, the users are now
unable
to browse to documents (e.g. word docs) on the web and have them open in
internet explorer. They have to save them to their local machines first. We
have other computers on the domain that are working ok.

By copying and pasting the documents full url into Word's File Open dialog
etc. they work fine.

Since this has only happened after joing the computers to the domain, is
this being controlled by a policy?

Can someone help, i and others have been searching for hours and to no
avail
and am going round in circles on web searches.

NOTE: Already asked in SBS Group and they say not an SBS issue, see response
below.

Thanks,
Dave

no...this is absolutely not a sbs or group policy thing unless you created
one. This sounds like an IE issue
If you go to IE properties, Programs Tab, Manage Add-Ins, you should have
some Microsoft Office items in that list.
Joining the domain should not make a difference in that.

I would probably consider posting this in an IE or Office group
