All right, in word 2007, under the "insert" tab there is an "object" option.
it is a little icon and to the side of it reads "object" and under "date &
time" and besides the WordArt and Drop Cap.

Anyone have any information how this "object" option works or a website with
detail information on it? I need to figure out the *linking* part of this
object option and how to make the links work on multiple computer machines.

Thank you in advance!

Click on the button, then select Object and then go to the Create from File
tab, Browse to the item that you want to insert and check the Link to file
box before clicking on OK.

Hi Marlah,

Generally, for images, using Insert=>Picture and creating the link there is preferred over the Insert=>Object choice that carries
extra baggage with it and may need to have the same software available on each machine to be usable.

In either usage you can be running into relative vs fixed link/paths.

Can you provide more specifics on your scenario?
