I am still struggling to get my VB.Net add-in to load on
machines other than the one it was created on. I found a
KB article that describes the behavior, but the solution
does not help. Any help would be appreciated!
The Kb article is 316723, "Shared add-in not displayed in
Office COM Add-ins dialog box."
It suggested not selecting "for all users" in the setup
wizard. As that makes the add-in per machine not per
user.
I am still getting the following behavior.
On the machine it is created on, it loads at startup and
works as expected.
Copy the project and setup to another machine (also
running VS .Net) and run set up. Setup finishes, but the
addin is not added to the tools menu, but visible in the
Add-in dialog un checked. Selecting is shows that no
Location is listed and Load behavior = None. Checking
the box to select it does not add it to the Tools menu.
If I recompile the project on the second machine, then
the addin installs and works.
