HELP! Publisher Files Currupt

A

Adrian Haslett

I've been doing a Website for weeks know and all of a sudden the pub file
will not open. When I try to open it from publisher it just says Publisher
cannot open the file.

I'm using Publisher 2003. I've noticed that the file has changed to a html
documents instead of a pub document and I don't know how to turn it back
again. I've tried renaming and everything.

I've got the html files that it creates when I publish to web can I use them
or something to recreate my pub file as I am desperate to finish this website.

When you saved the publisher file and it created the html file/s. It also
created a .pub file. It's the .pub file you need to ever access your web
files for editing. If your deleted the .pub file............. You will need
to start over and remember to save the pub file. No need to upload the pub
file unless you want to have a backup copy in another location.

You won't be the first to delete the .pub file after creating the website. I
don't think I was the first either.<G>

I find this post very confusing as you state first that you can't open the
..pub file and speak of corruption then you turn around and state there is no
..pub file.
What's up?
Please confirm if you are having an issue with a ".pub" file.
Please indicate if you are knowledgable in that when using File, Publish to
web, that Publisher generates .htm files (exclusive of the .pub file).
Please indicate if you are even using File, Publish to web OR if you are
using File, Save as, Web page - the latter being a whole different thing.
