Help quell my fears about losing my work...

This program looks great, but I'm just freaked out about losing my work since
there's no 'Save' button.

Do you think it's reasonable for me to be afraid that I will lose my work
since there is no 'Save' button on OneNote? Or should I truly believe that it
saves my work in real time and that I don't need to worry about that? Why or
why not?

No. OneNote autosaves your work.

I've used it for about 3 years (2003 and 2007) without issues to date.

Or should I truly believe that it
saves my work in real time and that I don't need to worry about that? Why
or
why not?

Don't be afraid.
The "Save-Button" is missing *on*purpose* !!
(as well as the corresponding item in the menu).

Such thing simply is not necessary at all in ON.

Not at all!
Nothing more safe than data in ON.

You should said:

Easy enough:
OneNote works totally different from all of the "normal" apps we know.

ON works with a *cache*.
Whenever anything is worked on (by opening notebooks) the work is done
in the *cache*.
And the cache and the original data-files are kept in synch
automatically.

Therefore working with ON is quite different from working with any
"normal" application (like Word f.e.).

In ON the basic way of working is to just open the notebooks one is
working with (normally *ALL* of them).
And one never
(a) saves the notebooks
and
(b) never *closes* the notebooks. One just works with them.

And one closes *OneNote* with all of the notebooks left *open*.

Sounds strange someway?
Well, ON is a bit different <bg>
