Help... Query crashes Access!!

It happens to many people. I have XP and Access 2002 and
Access 97 installed. My IT guys tell me that is because
Access 97 is installed beside Access 2002.

It would be nice if Microsoft folks explain crashes or
point us to the Knowledge base.
