Help - Quick: cut and paste no longer works

HELP A.S.A.P.

For some unknown reason my computer will no longer allow me to cut and
paste. Either in using the keyboard short cuts Ctrl+c or Ctrl+v or the left
mouse button option or from the Edit menu.

Ive tried it in several different programs from MS Word to notpad toAdobe
InDesign to Illustrator.

Has anybody else ever have this happen before? If so how did you get it
working again?

My computer is about a month old and I also have a new Microsoft keyboard
and mouse.

Thanks in advance for any help I can get.
