When I had Windows Search 4.0 (WS4), whenever I tried searching emails within
Outlook 2007, it would take a long time, and always re-start seraching before
being finished.
When I opened WS4, it would say that it is "waiting waiting to index" (or
something like that). When I went into the Control Panel to try re-indexing,
the space was grayed out. I click to "restore to default", but it didn't
help.
I have read many other suggestions through the internet such as
uninstalling, reinstalling, manually uninstalling, using ccleaner to clean
out the registry etc. So far no good. When I recently tried re-installing,
I received a pop-up saying "Windows Search 4.0 could not be installed on this
system. For more details, check the log file. (C;\WINDOWS\KB940157.log)
I tried listing the log within this post, but it becomes too long for posting.
Please let me know if any of you can offer any suggestions.
Thanks,
Mason
