I desperately trying to move my BCM 2003 from my old laptop to a new laptop.
The BCM on the old laptop no longer has the BUSINESS TOOLS link on the menu.
I tried copying the MDF files over to the BCM folder in the APPS DATA folder
in the user profile folder but it says that the MDF is of a newer version. I
have applied all the patches, including the SBA patch.
There may be a work around! I also noticed that I have a new instance of SQL
on the called SQL EXPRESS. When I setup my profile, I can connect to the new
instance called [MACHINENAME]\SQLEXPRESS, and actually link to the new
version of the MDF. However, when I restart or open the PROFILE, it wants to
view the previous MDF/profile. Is there a registry entry or a setting
somewhere that I can tell BCM to look for the new instance and use the proper
MDF? In this way, I won't have to every battle exporting the database from
my old laptop, whose BCM is kindly broken.
I would really appreciate the help.... Mui mui mui thanks in advance.
