Help section displaying only XML text and delete key changes font

Greetings all -
I have kind of a double problem going on. The first one is probably pretty
easy to fix, but I can't figure it out because of the second problem.
1. Whenever I hit the delete key & it is at the end of the document, it
automatically changes my font & size from Times New Roman 12 to Calibri 11.
2. When I open the word help dialogue box, the right side is XML text only.
If I click on a subject, it displays properly, but if I try to search for an
answer, the right side is, once again, XML text.

The clue to problem 1 may be that the final paragraph mark of a section or
document holds much of the formatting information for the document. If you
have manually changed the font to TNR 12 pt, then when you delete the final
document paragraph mark, you are deleting that format information; so Word
defaults back to its install default. To stop that happening, you need to
change the default font in the Default Font so that documents open in TNR 12
pt without you having to manually change it.
