Help: Spell Check window opens behind document

I am using Word 2000 on a Windows XP Home platform. When I use the spell
check function, the spell check window comes up behind the document and I
can't see it until I minimize the document and then re-maximize it. It only
does this once and the next time I run spell check it will show up on top of
the document until I close and reopen Word.

The program came as part of Microsoft Works Suit 2000 and I am wondering if
this is an incompatibility issue with XP or some other problem. Any help
you can give me with this annoyance will be greatly appreciated.
