New laptop, as users old laptop has seen better days, however the internals
work well enough to transfer settings and files.
Installed office 2003. Joined machine to network domain. Added existing user
to new laptop first through the steps in adding the machine to the network
and then through file/settings transfer to bring over old files, email
settings, etc.
After logging in as the user and launching outlook, all of the users emails,
etc come over fine, but the user cannot send/receive. When I try to access
the account settings under the tool menu I get the error - "The operation
failed due to a registry or installation problem. Restart Outlook and try
again. If the problem persists, please reinstall."
I checked out the KBA on this which suggests creating a new mail profile.
When I try to create a new on I get an error saying "trouble accessing
registry".
I’ve tried accessing the mail settings through the control panel, but when I
click “email accounts†or “data filesâ€, nothing happens.
