help undoing hyperlinks of email and web addresses

In the body of Word documents, I often type in email and web
addresses, which Word insists on making hyperlinks (blue, underlined,
different font). How can I make Word not make them hyperlinks and
just make them normal text? (I don't want to have to go around to
make the hyperlinks into plain text. I just want them to be plain text to
begin with.) Thanks!

In Tools | AutoCorrect, AutoFormat as You Type tab, uncheck the box re
"internet paths." While you are there, you may want to uncheck some other
things--that panel is the source of most of Word's annoying habits.
