In Word 2004, when I change the keyboard encoding to Greek or Greek
Polytonic, Word selected a font that DID NOT have Greek characters
(PFGoudy Initials). I removed the font, and it selected ANOTHER font
that didn't have the Greek characters. I removed that one, and Word
finally selects a font that has Greek characters at those code points.
This problem seemed to happen when I upgraded to 10.4 "Tiger." I think
the problem is with the OS, because it also seems to affect Readiris
(OCR) ability to read Greek characters, which it used to do quite well
and now will not do at all.
I think it must have something to do with how the OS tells an
application which font to use for a given script. Anyone have any idea
what's happening?
TIA,
Brad
