help urgently-mdi

Thomas Willms

When I had Office 2000, as a printer option I had
Microsoft Document Imaging. It would capture any doc and
convert it to .mdi format. Now that I upgraded to Office
XP Pro I do not have that option nor will it read my
old .mdi files. What do I do?

I have to open my mdi files urgently....

Thanks

hi,
Maybe you could load word2000 to another location -
another drive - or try another folder. Open the mdi then
saveas some other format.

Otherwise try irfanview or a graphics converter to convert
the image(?).

ps type irfanview into a browser. it is freeware and you
can download it.

Hi Thomas,

Hmmm.

The MS Office Document Image Writer is a virtual printer
driver that along with the .MDI file format are
new to Office 2003. There is a MS Publisher
Imagesetter printer driver in 2000, but it doesn't
print to MDI format.
