Help Using Categories!

How can I use categories. If I had 6 projects and split them up into 3 groups
of 2. Could I have a user group that had 3 categories in it. And each
category would give access to a different group of projects? Is this how the
categories work in project?

Categories control what users can see. Groups control what users can do
with what they can see. Yes, it would be entirely possible to add all three
Categories to a single Group in Project Server. Hope this helps.

But I tried this and didn't work. I added 2 categories to a group. Each
category had a diffeent project associated with it. I added the person in the
group to one of those categoryies and they could see the project. So I took
them out of that category and added them to a different category that has a
different project associated with it. But they could not see that project.
They still so the project that was associated with the other category.

But I tried this with no luck. I added 2 categories to a group. And then
added a person to 1 of those categories and they could see the project that
is associated with that category. So I rmoved them from that category and
added them the other category, but they could now see the previous project
and not the project that is associated with that category. Why is this?

When you added the Categories to the Group, did you select the correct
permissions for each Category in the Permissions grid of the Categories
section of the page?
