Help with a database design

Here is my scenario for a small building which is booked for different
occasions. If anyone could help me with the design of this database I would
be very grateful. As I am very new to MS Access.

1. The occasional booking's must be made in advance - at least one week but
not more thna two months in advance of the date booked and usaull the fee is
paid at the time of booking.
Booking's can be made for either morning, afternoon, evening. Evening
booking's can also be extended on fridays and saturdays only.

2. The cost for each slot is as follows
morning -£12
afternoon -£12
evening -£15
evening extension -£5

Special occassions can be held on a friday or saturday evening for a special
rate of £10 including the extension

We record the folloeing info when a booking is made
Name of person or society
title of event
contact address
tel no
fee paid or fee to be billed

We also have regular booking's throughout the whole year
Play Group - Mon + Wed Morning
Guides + Brownies - Tuesday Evening
Cubs + Scouts - Thurs Evening
Women's Institute - 3rd Tuesday in every month in the afternoon
Line Dancing - every other Mon evening

The regualr booking's aren't part of the normal billing but they still need
to be shown as hired

Also we need a list of bookings for each week showing the 21 slots and who
has booked what

We were also hoping to create bills for the previous months occasional
booking's

Also every month we calculate the following:
total money taken for occasional bookings and percentage usage, including
regualar and occassional bookings, for each weekly slot.

Again If anyone could help me out I would be very grateful.
You can contact me direct at (e-mail address removed)

Thanks in advance

It isn't clear from your post whether you are looking for assistance as you
create the application, or looking for someone to create the application for
you. These newsgroups are followed on a voluntary basis, and are best used
to help clarify a question or work around an issue. It's a bit beyond the
scope of the 'groups to actually build someone an application "to spec".

If you are looking to have someone build this for you, perhaps you'll need
to hire a consultant...

Good luck!

I was hoping someone would be able to be able to build it for me quickly as I
didn't think that it would be that hard for the pros!!!

If you are looking for someone to build to your specs for free, you might
have more luck approaching a local college/university. Many of the folks
who respond in these groups have day jobs and/or consulting businesses, and
might not be able to afford to do "pro bono" development.

Best of luck!

Another thought ... have you checked at Microsoft.com for templates that
give you a starting point for what you are trying to do?
