Help with a formula

i am trying to make a formula that multiplys a cell by a percent to determine
the amount of a commission however if a certain amount of money is made how
can i make the percent change to calculate the sum with the new percent rate

Line 1. Column 1 + Column 2 + $37.99 $10.99 $9.99 $9.99 $68.96 $13.79
Line 2. Delivery on amount of Line 1 + $4.56 $1.32 $1.20 $1.20 $8.28
Line 3. Sales Tax + $2.41 $0.70 $0.63 $0.63 $4.38
Line 4. Grand Total 1+2+3 = $44.96 $13.01 $11.82 $11.82 $81.61
Line 5. Minus hostess free product -
Line 6. Total = $44.96 $13.01 $11.82 $11.82 $0.00 $81.61

Your example doesn't tell us very much. Which line do you want to calculate
the commission on? What is the "certain amount of money" that changes the
commision rate?

A simple If should do what you want. Something like:

=if(a1>50,a1*5%,a1*6%)

Change the sample data to reflect your situation.
