Help with Access

John Zellmer

I would appreciate any help and explanation I can get to
allow me to, through use of a command button, duplicate
the current record with some of the data ommitted.

I am trying to setup a form that will allow the person to
add different data to certain fields in the next record,
while not having to retype the information that would be
the same as what is in the current record.

Thank you for your help in advance,

John

It is most unusual in a properly designed database to have to duplicate
data. Are the tables properly normalised ?

That being said, you realise you can use the key combination <Ctrl> ' to
duplicate data from the record above ?

You can also set the default value for the field to the current value in the
Before Update event, if you want to automate a bit further.
